Guandu : Through the lens, I tried to reflect the relationship I have with my family in general; my father in specific. These images were collected in four different days, within walking distance from the Taipei Guandu Hospital. They may not appear any different from other photos I have taken but I connect with these in a more personal and unique way; some because of nostalgia, others hope and harmony, still others admiration and amazement. Mostly, all is part of me.

en route : Alaska mountains and glaciers from above 33,000 ft. A spetacular view.

Tokyo : Very few photos because of shopping.

Mt. Fuji & Hakone : We are lucky being blessed with beautiful weather considering this is the rainy season in Japan. Mt. Fuji is well known to be a "shy mountain", revealing her face only about half of the time because of the quick change of local cloud formation.

Inuyama & Nagoya : This was probably the most unforgetable two days in Japan. A small group plus an awesome and very personable guide.

Inuyama & Nagoya

Kyoto & Nara : We had a day and a half all to ourselves. No itinerary, no rush. Staying in a Ryokan, in stead of a western style hotel, is a wonderful experience.

Kyoto and Nara have so many temples (Buddhism) and shrines (Shintoism), some of them are literally inside each other. Although it has not always been this way, these two religions now co-exist peacefully and both are intergral parts of Japanese life.

Fireworks : I was no more than 150 meters from the launch site. The fireworks were literally over my head. The widest lens I had with me that night was 50 mm. None of these was Photoshopped or cropped. All I did was adjustment of contrast and saturation and remapping of the tone when I transferred these images to sRGB color space.

Maui : Because of the schedule while I was there, all shots are taken from early afternoon to sunset. But I did all the things I love to do. Hiking, driving, flying, eating out at different places, wine tasting at a vinyard (yes, there is one in Maui), taking all kinds of photos...... and of course, sitting in the classes learning hard, really hard and having fun interacting with my peers :) This is definitely a need-to-go-back-again kind place.

LA 2010 : These photos are parts of what I saw during my way-too-short getaway trip to LA. Although this is not my first time in LA, seeing it through the cameras definitely brings a new appreciation of this amazing city. Having a great friend or two in the city showing you around makes all the difference too .
